The History of Baccarat
The beginnings of Baccarat cannot be exactly determined. A lot of people believe that Baccarat began in the middle ages, but other scholars have different opinions on where the game began. Many believe that the game was first played by using a Tarot deck of cards.
According to one belief, Baccarat was made and conceptualized by an Italian moneylender, Lino Bussoli while he was in Abruzzo, which was surrounded by mountains and was considered to be a very remote area. Bussoli was treated with fearful respect throughout the area because of his suspicious transactions and his frightening appearance.
Lino Bussoli had a hooked nose and both his ears were cut off by a local soldier as revenge for his abusive behavior to the citizens and his disloyal behavior towards the principality. But this method did not stop him from thinking brand new and unique ways to make some cash and a lot of people say that he was responsible for making a lot of gambling games which changed and were adapted throughout the years as it became popular for different places all over the world.
The unchanged version of Baccarat found its way to the country of France, where the French Nobility adapted it as their own game. Baccarat continued to change and there are now 4 modern versions. These are the American, Chemin de Fer, European and Baccarat en Banque versions.
It is not certain when Baccarat first became available in Casinos in the United States. But most people believe that it was first played in the Sands Casino establishment located in Las Vegas during 1959 and 1960, when brought from the country of Cuba by casino operator Tommy Renzoni before Fidel Castro came into power.
This version of the game was adapted from the Chemin de Fer version in France and some said the game arrived in Cuba from Argentina.
Baccarat has even manifested in the web with the game's online variation. The game of Baccarat has a good history all over the world as well, like its immense popularity among the Asian tourists who travel to Las Vegas annually.
Some of the biggest Baccarat high-rollers often arrive from abroad to play in the Baccarat rooms that are offered in the beautiful Las Vegas casinos. In the casino establishments that are located in Macau, which is near Hong Kong, the popularity of Baccarat is incomparable with other games.
Unlike the Baccarat game that can be found in the casinos in America, Baccarat tables in Hong Kong allow more players to wager on a single area while advance Baccarat dealers keep track of the commission's of the players and the winning banker wagers.
